Goats
acrylic, 2022
I painted this when we were living in Bowdoinham, Maine. The original painting was done in acrylic on masonite board, 2’x4’. Our boys were young, and there’s nothing quite like trying to clean oil paint off the fingers of a five-year old, so I primarily used acrylics at that time. The painting’s setting is fanciful, but the goats were real: Star, Zipper and Freya inhabited a small barn and pen in our back yard, and frequently busted out - twice even gaining entry into our house (never a good idea with goats…)
