Cats/Shoes
acrylic, 2022
I painted this on a huge piece of thick cardboard, about 4’x6’ - I think it may have originally held a commercial stove. The subjects are Jazzy and Zebby, our two cats. Zeb was a kitten at the time, and his reclining pose captures his perpetually chill demeanor. Jazzy is watchful, as always. I’m not exactly sure what the shoes represent - some kind of memory or detritus - mostly I just liked their shapes. The dandelions represent nature having the final word.
