Blue Spring Manatees

This is painted from a memory of a January visit to Blue Spring, Florida. From December through March, manatees migrate from the ocean inland to warmer brackish waters for the winter, and Blue Spring is one of the various places where people come to see them. People tend to be rather hushed in these viewing places, as the manatees slow, gentle movements tend to inspire a general feeling of quiet and calm above-water.
